Katoomba Vet Hospital is a well-established, full service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. The facility includes a well stocked pharmacy, extensive laboratory, surgical suite, digital radiology capabilities, an up to date ultrasound machine and a well supervised hospital which includes thermostatically controlled heated enclosures for small animals.

Surgery:  We offer a wide range of routine surgical procedures as well as more complex soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries including cruciate and fracture repairs.
   
Anaesthesia:  We utilise the safest anesthetic agents available along with modern monitoring equipment to help minimise the risk associated with anaesthesia.

   
Reptiles, Birds and Unusual pets: We attempt to provide service for all animals no matter the species. We have access to an extensive range of specialised equipment and information to aid in the treatment of these unique pets. 

   
Radiology Services:  Our modern X-ray equipment provides high quality digital radiographs to aid in accurate on-site  evaluation and the rapid referral to specialist consultants if required.

Ultrasonography: To minimise the need for diagnostic referral we offer on-site ultrasounds for both medical diagnosis and confirmation of pregnancy.

 Dentistry:  Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, dental X-rays, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery.
   
Laboratory:  Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, serology, urinalysis, microscopy, parasitology and microbiology. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.

       
Pharmacy:  We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets.

Pet products and diets: We stock a limited number of products and diets. Weekly ordering from a more extensive range of products is available

Permanent identification: We offer microchip identification for your pet.

Individualised Flea Control Programs:  We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, in your yard and on your pet.

Dietary Counselling:  We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.

Behavioral Counselling:  We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.
